Irene Greenup is a passionate and dedicated Certified Adapted Physical Education Specialist committed to fostering student well-being through inclusive play and adapted sports. She has earned her bachelor's degree in early childhood education from National University and her master's in physical education & Kinesiology from International Alliant University, and she has earned her Certifications: CAPE (Certified Adapted Physical Educator) or local state licensure from Azusa Pacific University. With a background in Adapted Physical Education, Irene combines innovative, student-centered, and positive encouragement techniques to boost self-esteem. She focuses on building rapport with students, helping them develop a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness.
What is an Adapted Physical Specialist does:
Provide individualized physical education instruction or services to children, youth, or adults with exceptional physical needs due to gross motor developmental delays or other impairments.
On the job, I would:
Adapt instructional techniques to the age and skill levels of students.
Instruct students, using adapted physical education techniques, to improve physical fitness, gross motor skills, perceptual motor skills, or sports and game achievement.
Provide individual or small groups of students with adapted physical education instruction that meets desired physical needs or goals.
